Hi, we’re Hoan and Jenny, partners in life, tech and this little dream called Casolena.
We both come from the world of data, modeling and problem-solving. By day, we write codes, tackle challenges and navigate the digital world.
But in the evenings and on weekends, we shift gears completely, picking up tools, sketching ideas and constantly refining our dream home: Casolena Lakehouse, all with Emmy, our little helper and endless source of joy, by our side.
Our vision is to create a retreat that reflects what we value most: peaceful nature, thoughtful simplicity and meaningful connection.
How Did We Find Casolena?
through decades of searching for the true value…
We used to dream of city life, the energy, the excitement, the fast pace. We achieved that only to realize the noise and rush started to feel overwhelming. What we truly wanted was much simpler, a quiet comfy home by the water, with fresh air, open skies and mornings that start with sunlight, not alarms.
That’s how we found Casolena, our dream home by the lake in the beautiful Northern Bruce Peninsula.
Casolena is named after the Italian phrase Casa del Sole e della Luna, meaning Home of the Sun and the Moon. This home is filled with light, nature, calm and love.
We’re grateful to call it home, and even happier to share it with you! We hope Casolena gives you the pause you’ve been longing for.
Behind The Scenes
Hoan is the hands-on builder, always fixing, assembling or crafting something around the house. He makes sure every part of Casolena works just right. And when you reach out to us, Hoan’s the one behind the messages.
Jenny is behind the “feeling” of Casolena, drawing on her years in Italy to shape Casolena’s thoughtfully minimal interiors and cozy touches, creating moments that feel both timeless and personal.
And then there’s Emmy, our little helper and a constant source of joy and inspiration. She’s already picked up dada’s tools and learned mama’s crafts, always eager to lend a hand or add her own creative touch.
Through Our Lens
Beyond data, algorithm and boardgames, photography has always been Hoan’s and Jenny’s shared passion. At Casolena, it’s how we hold on to the moments that move us.
Almost every photo and video you see on our website, listings or social media was taken by us (well, mostly Jenny, because Hoan is always busy with fixing things). The rest come from our wonderful guests and very few trusted collaborators who feel Casolena the same way.
Through our lens, we hope to share more than just a view. We want you to see yourself here, even before you arrive, feeling at home, surrounded by peace and nature and experiencing the beauty that makes Casolena both familiar and unique.
