FAQ
Booking
1. Why can I only select certain dates for check-in/check-out?
During the high season (June to October and December holidays), our check-in and check-out days are fixed to help us pre-book housekeeping and keep Casolena ready for every guest.
2. I’m interested in booking for next summer but the calendar looks blocked, why?
We open our next summer calendar in December, but summer dates at Casolena often fill up 6–8 months in advance. If you’d love to pick your perfect dates, join our email list to be the first to know when new dates go live!
3. Why are there two different occupancy limits?
We welcome up to 6 guests for groups of friends or individuals, and up to 8 guests for families to include children. This helps ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, keeps things peaceful for our neighborhood, and follows legal local by-laws.
4. If I have friends who aren’t sure about joining, can I add them later?
We understand plans change! Just let us know ahead of time. Any additional guests must still fall within our maximum occupancy and be confirmed in writing. Additional guest fee applies for more than 6 guests.
Pricing
5. What are the rates for weekdays and weekends?
Our rates vary by season and day of the week. You can view up-to-date rates by selecting your dates on our booking page.
6. Can we waive the cleaning fee if we clean up ourselves?
We always appreciate tidy guests! But our cleaning fee covers a professional deep clean and a thorough reset between every stay. Fun fact: our amenity refill checklist alone is two pages long with over 50 items, and that is not counting our cleaning checklist. We want every guest, including you, to arrive to a perfectly clean, welcoming space, so we can’t waive the cleaning fee or swap it for guest clean-up.
7. I saw the price went up when I added another guest — is that normal?
Yes! Our base rate covers 6 guests. Beyond 6 guests, we charge an extra guest fee of $25/extra guest/day.
House Rules
8. What’s your check-in and check-out time?
Check-in: 4 PM | Check-out: 10 AM.
9. Can I pay extra for early check-in or late check-out?
We generally do our best to accommodate this type of request, free of charge. But when there’s a same-day turnover, we won’t be able to offer extra time, because we need the full gap to get the home ready for you and the next guests.
10. Do you ever make an exception for pets?
We love animals, but to maintain a hypoallergenic space for all guests, Casolena is pet-free.
11. Is outdoor smoking allowed?
We’re a smoke-free property indoors. Guests can smoke outdoors at a designated area. Just ask us!
12. Does the quiet-hour policy apply to indoor noise?
Quiet hours (10 PM – 7 AM) apply to outdoor noise to help keep our neighborhood peaceful. We also ask guests to keep indoor noise at a considerate level overnight. A decibel monitor is on-site to help everyone rest easy.
13. Are there waste disposal sites nearby?
Yes! We’ll share local waste and recycling details in our home guide after your booking is confirmed. The list is also posted at the home, so you know exactly where to take trash on which date.
Amenities
14. Are there kayaks available on-site?
Yes! 4 single kayaks are provided on-site from June to September, free of charge. A signed waiver is required for kayak use.
15. Do you provide life vests?
Yes! 4 regular adult size life vests are provided on-site.
16. Do you provide firewood for the fire pit?
We provide a small amount of firewood on-site, enough for one cozy campfire. If you’d like more, extra firewood is easy to be purchased at local grocery stores, gas stations, or pop-up roadside stands.
17. What type of BBQ is it? Do I need to bring coal or gas?
We have a propane BBQ and provide the gas, no need to bring your own!
